Support for parents
How can I support parents?
As a parent myself, primary school teacher for 35 years, a special educational needs coordinator for 20 years and now a counsellor for over 2 years I am in a good position to understand and empathise with the struggles you may have at times. You want to do the best for your child or teenager but are not sure what this is and you may have questions you wish to to explore about yourself as a parent.
As a counsellor I can help you see things from another perspective and maybe help you to find the best way forward for your family.
If you don't feel you want counselling, I am also qualified to deliver coaching or mentoring so can help you to see what you could do next. Understanding the SEND system and seeing how schools could often offer better support helps me to do this. You may want help to understand paperwork or support in contacting schools or professionals.
I do not have to be seeing your child for this to work, you may just want a couple of sessions and this could be online, in my therapy room or walk & talk.
Priced at £40 an hour. Contact me if interested.
If unsure but needing advice this charity website has some really good advice and a helpline for parents https://www.youngminds.org.uk/parent/
